The Malta International Film Festival will announce its own film market during Berlin Festival.
The 1st Malta International Film Market (MIFM) is organized by the AECEO (Association pour l'Echange Culturel entre l'Europe et l'Orient; a cultural association based in Paris, France) with the collaboration of AraMage Artistic Production, AJR Events and with the support of Maltese Ministry of tourism and culture and Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) and Media Desk Malta in partnership with fest21.com.
The event will be held from 16 to 23 of September 2007 in Malta from 9 am till 6 pm. The aim of the Malta International Film Market is to promote and open a panel of discussion between different international cinema industry companies.
The companies that will participate to the market will be selected by the MIFF board of directors among: production companies, distribution companies, cinema facilitates and equipment companies, National Film Centers, cinema magazines, TV channels, Film Festivals.
The Film Market will be composed of 50 international participants and on a space of 1,700 square meters.
The Film Market will be directed by Olivier Delesse who graduated from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in Paris. After a career in finance and consulting he specialized in the movie industry and developed a community website offering news, analyses and services to executives in the entertainment business as well as organizing some international cinema events.
