Postsymbolism and poststructuralusm rejected the sincerity of modernity and symbolism. Arts acquired the shade of artificial genres, of upthought and compulsed reality. There are very few theoreticians like Frank Webster who embraced the entire realm of intellectual being, throughout history. I was entrusted the affair of translating him into Russian, by Yassen Zasoursky. Likewise, there appeared one person who summarized my experience at cinema. His name was Symon Ryabikov, producer and author of, "At the Dawn of Misty Adolescence", "Its Magesty the Ballet" and "Breakfast with a View at the Elbruss". He foresaw many if my future themes in cinema. He entrusted me to his colleague and crony, Cyrill Razlogov, who first of all, invited me to his program at the Culture Channel, "From screen avanguard to videoarts" and offered me tge altar of his cinema festival "White Stacks", nearby my summer house in Domodedovo (where Chekhov lived and where Akhmatova passed away: both, my characters at cinema and plays).
"Oh, those jokes with these motives, I'd had refused from debut years. Oh the beginning, so remote, then; So mildly fond of pains and fears!" So reads my own poetic translation from Boris Pasternak, sagacious and strict, intricate and precise poet of late symbolism... By Anna Polibina-Polansky; September, 4; 2023. Moscow.
