Bruno Chatelin awarded "La Riposte" a "World Health Organization - WHO" film with the Movie that Matters Award in Cannes during the Wine Tasting Reception for Festival Directors in Cannes.
La Riposte is a testament to community resilience and perseverance against the COVID-19 pandemic and the hardships of life. Told through a dialogue between community leaders, health officials, scientists, and journalists, the film speaks about the importance of inclusion. Such a dialogue seldom happens but must take place. The film is produced by World Health Organization (WHO) https://www.who.int
The United Nations agency working to promote health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable. La Riposte is now online on the WHO Platform and on youtube: https://youtu.be/nKPtyKFKXbw
"I want to start by thanking WHO for the tremendous and vital work they do for our world health!
With La Riposte I have recognised an initiative "that matters" in the very smart and creative usage of film to convey the important message to large audiences. I wanted to offer my "Movie that Matters Award in Cannes to WHO in the hope that they persevere in this strategy.
As a festival expert for decades I have learnt to recognise how festivals, like Cannes for instance with 5000 media in attendance can spread good news at speed light. Great strategy and great execution, I want to send my sincere appreciation and congratulations to each and everyone involved in the making of La Riposte - producers, the director of course, writers and all interviewed players.
I am sorry I could not thank the WHO team in person.
