WorldFest offers competition for Shorts, Documentaries, Feature Films, Music Videos, Experimental & Student Films on the Silver Screens of the wonderful Memorial City Cinemark Theatres, with over 1,000 international filmmakers attending the 10-day International Film Festival from 75 Nations!
The year 2020 will go down in history as the strangest year in all our memory! After 53 years, we had to postpone the festival, and we are still trying to find screening dates in late 2020. But with theatres not re-opening, we do not know. Happily, our 10 International Juries managed to finish all their work, and we have been able to send out Remi Awards to winners all over the world! Our awards makers have been closed, so it has been a very slow process getting all the elements! Our Remi Winners have been wonderful in helping with the postage for their awards, as we lost more than $250,000 in VIP Sponsorships! No Festival, No Check!
This is America’s Discovery Film Festival – We’re Fiercely Independent!

The WorldFest Remi Award for "The Songwriter of Botnang" arrived in Germany on the very day of Gerda Herrmann's 89th birthday. Alexander Tuschinski's poignant film about Gerda's childhood during the turbulent time of WWII depicts her love of music and her eventual ability to craft songs which helped her create a life of joy in spite of tragic surroundings. |
