Filmfestivals.com is extremely saddened by the news of Malo 's passing after a long disease. The company owes much to Malo: in 1995 he registered the domain, and started filmfestivals.com as a directory of festivals.com (3 years before Google started). The company built the first website for Cannes and Gilles Jacob, and did official an CD Rom for the festival.
We had raised money and launched the brand into a portal in 2000. Since we have been able to keep the brand alive through hard work pasion and dedication.
Together we have tested many digital innovations, such as streaming for festival films in 2000 (years ahead of everyone else, early, very early, TOO early !).
On a funny note we digitized the Cannes festival and market in 2007 on SECOND LIFE, reproducing the U2 concert on the red carpet... 13 years before the market went online...
Malo had developped in the last decade another company dedicated to digital art digitalarti then monart.art : the international art market place and community to purchase great art works through the secured Blockchain.
Good bye Malo, rest in peace.
