Hot on the heels of the box-office sensation After winning Best Choice Drama, Choice Drama Movie Actor and Choice Drama Movie Actress at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards, production on the highly anticipated sequel After We Collided has commenced, it was announced today by Anna Todd, international bestselling author of the “After” book series. Roger Kumble (Cruel Intentions) is directing the film, starring returning leads Josephine Langford, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, along with fan-favorite Dylan Sprouse.
Charlie Weber (“How to Get Away with Murder”), Louise Lombard (“CSI”), Candice King (“The Vampire Diaries”), Karimah Westbrook (Save the Last Dance, Suburbicon) and Rob Estes (“90210”) have been cast in the sequel to the New Adult romance which took nearly $70 million at the global box-office.
Shane Paul McGhie (Deputy), Samuel Larsen (“Glee”), Khadijha Red Thunder (After) and Dylan Arnold (Halloween) will also reprise their roles in the film that follows Hardin and Tessa as they struggle to come back together, facing obstacles that will test their relationship more than ever.
Producers of the new film are Anna Todd, the author of the novel on which the film is based, Jennifer Gibgot (17 Again, Step Up), CalMaple’s Mark Canton (Den of Thieves, 300) and Courtney Solomon (Cake, An American Haunting).
Anna Todd, in addition to serving as producer, wrote the script with Mario Celaya.
The first film in the series, After opened earlier this year to record box office numbers. The film opened at number one in 17 countries and has since taken over $9.9 million in France, $9.3 million in Germany and $7.1 million in Italy. Other high performing territories include Russia, which took of $3.2 million, Benelux which took over $3.5 million and Scandinavia which took over $3 million.
Weber has notably starred as ‘Frank’ on ABC’s “How to Get Away With Murder” opposite Viola Davis for the past five years. The sixth and final season of the hit drama will air on ABC in September 2019.
Lombard is best known for her roles in the CBS hit “CSI” and as the female lead in the Disney feature film, Hidalgo, opposite Viggo Mortensen. Other credits include SyFy's cult hit” SGU: Stargate Universe”, Fox's “Lethal Weapon” and ABC's “How To Get Away With Murder”.
King is best known for her regular role as Caroline Forbes on The CW supernatural drama series “The Vampire Diaries” and her recurring role as the same character on the spin-off series “The Originals”.
Westbrook is known for her roles in Save the Last Dance opposite Julia Stiles, Suburbicon opposite Matt Damon and The Rum Diary opposite Johnny Depp and Aaron Eckhart. She can currently be seen in The CW hit “All American”.
Estes is known for his roles as Harry Wilson on the teen drama series “90210”, as Sgt. Chris Lorenzo on the crime drama series “Silk Stalkings”, and as Kyle McBride on the primetime soap opera “Melrose Place”.
