It's April in Anaconda, Montana. Headstrong teenager Mickey Peck (Camila Morrone) is doing what she can to keep her single, veteran father afloat (James Badge Dale), navigating his mercurial moods, opioid addiction, and grief over the loss of his wife. Secretly, she fantasizes of going to college on the west coast and finally living life on her own terms. When she receives the opportunity to leave her home for good, she must make the impossible decision between familial obligation and personal fulfillment…
The film premiered at SXSW 2019 and received a very warm response in Deauville with long applause... Camila Morrone is beautifully shot, and Badge looks like he has been there before a lot, veteran afflicted with PTS on his retun from Iraq.
