Steven Gaydos: Senior Editor and Executive VP of Content, Variety - Stefania Auci: The Florios – Sicily’s Lions Saga from Harper Collins
On Tuesday, June 25th 2019 the Italian companies SIAE and Istituto Luce Cinecittà, hosted a panel to introduce three prominent Italian novelists whose works are in the process of adaptation for film/series.
The event explored opportunities for acquiring and adapting upcoming Italian literary properties based on Italian novels, as was the case with recent successful series like My Brilliant Friend and Gomorrah.
Steven Gaydos moderated the discussion between Italian novelists Edoardo Albinati (soon-to-be-published in the US by Farrar, Straus and Giroux The Catholic School), Stefania Auci (The Florios – Sicily’s Lions Saga from Harper Collins), Tiziana Triana (Black Moon Saga, currently in production) and US producers both from film studios and digital platforms.
Following the panel session, APA (the Italian Audiovisual Producers Association) and representatives of the IFC (Italian Film Commissions) organized one-on-one meetings between a Italian producers and top US players. The aim of the networking session is to find international co-production partners to produce the best upcoming content based on great Italian novels and IP.
The event took place at Mr.C Hotel in Beverly Hills. The 11:00am panel will be followed by lunch. One-on-one meetings (as requested) will be scheduled for the afternoon.
