AND YET IT MOVES, one of my animation short films has been selected to screen at the ROS Film Festival in Elche, Spain. AND YET IT MOVES is about independent thinkers and how their revolutionary thoughts are accepted or more accurately stated, not accepted. The film follows the adult life of Galileo who stated that the Sun, not the Earth was at the center of our solar system and who died under house arrest for espousing this “falsehood.” At the same time that Galileo proposed his hypothesis, Navin, an android from another system, was coincidently performing an audit of our system that clearly showed the Sun being at the center. Navin also grew to become an independent thinker and would pay a price for it.
The ROS Film Festival is an original idea of El Caleidoscopio Proyectos de Ciencia y Cultura, which has been developing the project Programa tu Obra for two years, a drama and short film competition where robots and humans are the protagonists.
