« For the first time, this year's Deauville American Film Festival has created the 44th Deauville American Film Festival Award. This award will be given to Jacques Audiard's film The Sisters Brothers in the presence of the film’s team, for the qualities of its direction, for its powerful performances from four major actors of contemporary American cinema - John C. Reilly, Joaquin Phoenix, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Riz Ahmed - and to salute its producers, thanks to whom such a noble project could be born. And finally, to celebrate a work that holds out hope for a better world, for a possible change of heart. For all these reasons, it seemed natural to reward such a work in an unusual, original and exceptional manner. »
