FROM ON HIGH has won two honors at the 2018 Carpine d'Argento Cortifestival in Visciano, Italy. Ahead of the fest, which runs June 29-July 1, 2018, director/producer Dawn Westlake was contacted that her DP/Editor, Pol Carrizo Vilarroig, had won the BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY award. The film itself also won a Third Place prize.
FROM ON HIGH tells the story of a Syrian refugee girl who finds a better life in Europe. It marks the professional acting debut of 11-year-olds Zoe Pinell Lopez and Esteve Serra Coll. An original score was provided by 2016 Peer Raben Music Award nominee GC Johnson.
