Grossmann Festival starts today at 18.00h at the Culture House with the opening of the photographic exhibition by
Tone Stojko entitled
Yellowed Photographs.
Marija Skočir, senior curator at the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana, will share some words about the exhibition and its author prior to the opening.
After the presentation of the winemakers competing for this year's Wine Champion Vicious Cat award this year's film program will begin with our opening film, Slovenian noir drama Case: Osterberg with director Matej Nahtigal and producer Tomi Matič in attendance.
At the Main Square, our guest of honour Jan Harlan will for the first time greet the Grossmann’s audience prior to the screening of his documentary Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures, a moving insight into life and work of one of the world cinema's greatest artists.
Our Vicious Cat competition will be kicked off at 23h at the Culture House by Adrian Garcia Bogliano's thriller Scherzo Diabolico, while The Noisy Cat Cinema, dedicated to our music documentary competition, will start rolling at 21.00h with the screening of Novo Mesto of Music with director Mitja Sočič in attendance. At the same time the Vicious City Hall Cinema will begin with the screening of the first batches of both short film competition programs.
The festival takes place in Ljutomer, Slovenia and will last until Saturday, July 16th.
