The first Epic ACG Fest Report

The 2014 Epic Animation Comic and Game (EACG) Fest  is the first Animation, Comic and Game festival produced by Maeya Culture Exchange Group,  it was  happened  in the beautiful East Bay of San Francisco in California.  EACG is aiming to bring together the creative elements, the artists and the general public from worldwide; the 2014 edition is a beautiful start.

At the animation section, EACG screen over 20 animated films from 12 countries and they were selected from submissions from all over the world. The special guests came from both domestic and international, such as top Japanese animator Yuichi Ito, and two-time Emmy Award winner Nelson Recinos. The jury members will consist of Pixar animators (Robb Denovan) and many other industries personal.  “Harbor Tale” (Japan) won the best animation title, and the Dream Works movie “ Fifi Cat Therapist: Panic Attack “ won the best  Animated TV Series award.

At the Comic and cartoon side,  EACG showcased  two  strips, on in comedy and the other in poetics ; and the single image is in sci-fi ( Canada). The audience and the jury voted the winner is the “Susan’s Dairy”, the poetic comic strip—a very beautiful one and deserved the award.

The gaming tournament was a cube puzzle competition, a class but very challenging game.  The young or adult loved this game.   An 11 years old local Albany girl grabs the champion title.

As many Animation, Comic and Game events,  EACG also have the Cosplay showcase and competition.  Juried by professional costume designer ( Ashanti  Altovese Griffin) and local cosplayer group leader ( Vindi Birch),  Ms. Russelle Anne Mcdermott  win the best  Masquerade award by  “Queen of Hearts”.

Thanks the USA   panel speakers (John Tupper; Lon Lopez, etc.) to help us to get this event started in a nice way, very appreciate  8 years old Avril Wang Brown and actress Huijun Jian use their beautiful voices to make the award ceremony  a great memory .
