Le Salon du Cinéma goes backstage and will offer 3 days of cinematic adventure (12-14 January 2007) to more than 50 000 expected visitors in one location (8 000 m2).
The Salon du Cinema offers cinema lovers of all kinds this unique occasion to discover cinema.
"Cinema has its festivals, premieres, gatherings and award shows. Meanwhile, there are Salons and Exhibitions in almost every field; from cars and chocolates, to plants and bathrooms. Suprisingly, however, there has never been a "Salon du Cinéma".
Indeed, a recent survey carried out by CRMMETRIX in July 2006 suggested that 87% of the 800 people questioned believe such a Salon would be a good idea.
It is with the vision of allowing audiences to make that journey into their screens, that we have the pleasure in announcing the launch of the first ever Salon du Cinema - a gathering between the world of cinema and its audiences.
The Salon du Cinema is the result of much effort through a panorama of french cinematic knowledge, diversity, learning and discovery along with the help of a number of institutions, associations, federations and professional organisations (FICAM, Film France, ARP, SRF, UCMF, UGS, Natonal Education Ministry), as well as the support of the French Culture and Communication Ministry.
Beyond the institutions and organisations, however, the Salon du Cinema has been made possible by the efforts of French cinema's most eminent -uniting for the first time audiences, directors, actors, costume designers, stuntmen, designers and the rest - making the Salon du Cinema a regular in the Cinema calendar.
It is pleasure that France welcomes along with this year's Country of Honour - Morocco - a country which shares France's passion and joy for cinema.
Wishing the Salon du Cinema a glittering and prosperous life - it is a Salon du Cinema for each and everyone of us"
