Industry days at RIFF attracted over hundred particiants, of wich dozent were international. They got a chance to learn about Icelandic music, including the music of the Bafta - award winner, Ólafur Arnalds. He composed the score from the award winning show, Broadchurch. The participants also visited the production company which director Baltasar Kormákur owns. There they met one of the great minds behind the Oscar winning movie, Gravity, Daði Einarsson. He worked at the VFX for the movie. The participants also went to a location trip which was hosted by professional location scouts from production company, Saga Film. There they went to seek out the same grounds that Game of Thrones and Interstellar was filmed. This year there was also introduction to new Icelandic projects and work in progress. Icelandic artists showcased they´r newest work in progress with strong feedback from the industry. Among guests were representatives from NonStop Entertainment/Turner, Film Republic and Films Boutique. There were also representatives from the Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Dazed and confused and other members of the press. Up to 30 projects wore presented for the industry at the showcase. |
