IUFF Festival Director Marcia Gomes de Oliveira is calling for films that tackles nuclear power issues that have been completed at any time – including features, documentaries, short and animated films, fictions and nonfictions and so called image films produced for nuclear institutions or organizations working with the nuclear question.
Marcia Gomes: “The films can be about uranium mining, atomic bomb tests, about the use of depleted uranium weapons, about nuclear accidents or radioactive contamination, about Chernobyl and Fukushima and about atomic waste. But we are also interested in films about the history of nuclear science and nuclear medicine, about people working with radioactivity or in nuclear institutions.”
The 4th International Uranium Film Festival runs from May 14-24 in Rio de Janeiro’s Modern Art Museum (MAM-Rio) cinemateque. The Uranium Film Festival in Rio de Janeiro is the world’s biggest showcase of nuclear & atomic films. The full program schedule will be announced in April 2014.
