“Brainstorming”, Pitching, Elevator pitching and more

Lectures, discussions, meetings, exchange of thoughts and experience – a true “brainstorming”. These are the attractions guaranteed this year during the REGIOFUN festival to the participants of the workshops “Young Producer”. All this is meant to create a manpower of educated and creative producers who will soon conquer not only Europe, but the whole world.

Behind us we have a true marathon of meetings and lectures, all of which are worth their weight in gold. In cinema theatre Rialto we hosted the “Look for Fund” forum in “one-to-one” formula – producers versus representatives of regional funds. Have no fear, this was not a battle of two enemies, since we all are on one side. On the side of films. It was rather an opportunity to receive a practical evaluation of chances for receiving a subsidy for particular projects.

Whereas in the “Kosmos” cinema we give you a bit of theory essential in order to function in the complex procedures of the film industry. The meeting with the representatives of regional funds from Estonia and France, as well as with Maciej Orlicz (Film Commission Cracow) helped the producers to get acquainted with the rules of financing national and international projects.

The next meeting with Bruno Chatelin (producer, distributor, marketing specialist and the creator of FilmFestivals.com) is the next priceless life lesson of “pitching” and acquiring information from the field of promotion, communication and marketing.

This intense day ended with a test – “pitching”, to which the young producers have been preparing for the past few days of the workshops. During short (3 minute) speeches in front of the representatives of regional funds from Europe and Poland, they encouraged them to invest in the producers’ projects. Will they succeed and make their dreams come true? Time will show. We keep our fingers crossed.
