The 10th edition of the Sevilla European Film Festival (SEFF 2013) will run from Nov 8 to 16.
This film festival has several sections such as:
Competitive
a) Official Section
A selection of mainly European-produced films of outstanding cinematographic quality.
b) New Waves
New values and/or unique sights in the contemporary European cinema.
c) New Waves/Non_Fiction
Full-length documentaries and films registered in the field of non-fiction. Selected works will have a duration exceeding 50 minutes
d) Resistances
Selection of feature films by filmmakers of the Spanish independent scene, (co)produced in Spain and/or by Spanish directors. Selected works will have a duration exceeding 50 minutes.
e) Europa Junior
A film selection aimed at children and youths.
f) EFA Selection 2013
In collaboration with the European Film Academy (EFA), a selection of films that have been pre-nominated for the 2013 European Film Awards take part in this section.
g) Eurimages Competition
Selection of titles co-financed by the Eurimages program and included in other 2013 SEFF sections.
h) Andalusian Panorama/Short_Films
Selection of short films (maximum 30 minutes), made by Andalusian filmmakers and / or (co)produced by Andalusian companies, produced after January 1st, 2012.
Out-of-Competition Sections
i) Focus Europa
A special section devoted to films from an European country with remarkable achivements within the recent international cinema scope.
j) Focus, seasons and tributes
These sections will serve specifically to review and highlight singular creators, and even specific film genres or schools, whose creative work is of interest.
k) Panorama Andaluz
A selection of recent audiovisual works (co)produced by Andalusian companies, or directed by Andalusian filmmakers. This section includes fictional films, animations and documentaries
l) Short Matters!
A panorama of European short films which have been selected and nominated by the European Film Academy for the 2013 European Film Awards.
m) Special Screenings
Special screenings consisting of titles of significant cinematic value, open to mostly European (co)productions within the fields of fiction, documentary and animation.
Like any other film festival there will be awards. Here the main prize is the Golden Giraldillo. It takes its name from the statue on top of La Giralda one of the wonderful monuments in Sevilla.
