Filmmaker Craig Griffin presents WA Premiere Uncharted Waters. Director, Writer and Producer Craig Griffin will present his West Australian Premiere Feature Uncharted Waters at CinèfestOZ 2013.
“This film, which is about the life of most legendary surfers, is destined to resonate with local South West audiences at this year’s festival,” said Festival Chair Malinda Nixon.
“Uncharted Waters traces the life of surfing Legend Wayne Lynch from the years as a young surfer growing up in the South Western Coast of Victoria, to his role as a central figure in Australian surfing.
“Conscripted to the Vietnam War as a 19 year old, Uncharted Waters also touches on his politics and the shifting sub-culture of the time, as Lynch went on the run as a conscientious objector to the Vietnam War.
“The recent filming of Australian Feature Drift in the region, and then the Australian Premiere of this event in Yallingup earlier in the year, illustrated there is great excitement for this genre of film amongst the local Capes audiences.
“Uncharted Waters is destined to be a popular attraction at this year’s CinèfestOZ Festival.
“Uncharted Waters is more than a Surfing film; it’s about the man behind the legend, and the community and culture that surrounded him.”
