LOS ANGELES, CA: While the world may be doing some serious Spring Cleaning after the Icelandic volcano ashfall subsides, in Los Angeles actors, writers and directors looking for creative Spring cleaning will end up with the only industrial strength antidote for artistic malaise in this town: Candace Silvers.
Phil Silvers' fully reloaded daughter Candace took a personal sojourn from actor to reactor; from frightened backstage ingenue to powerhouse peer coach for all kinds of Hollywood types from the gang behind GALAXY QUEST to the writer of HUNG.
"This is a virgin story," one she's never told before, she said. "I was doing a play, and Dudley Moore -- who gave me away at my wedding because my father had passed -- he was in the audience. I couldn't go on (stage); I was terrified; I would die... so I asked my father to help. I said 'with all the Tony awards you've won on Broadway, and the Emmy's, you've got to help me.'I felt his arms wrap around me; his legs wrap around me. I 'zipped' myself inside his body. And I think anybody can 'borrow' what they don't have to
stand present in this life, be here."
Candace Silvers Studio can be found live at www.screenmancer.com and she appears in a CD lecture series from Women in Film. WIF is also offering $15,000 via its "25th Annual Film Finishing Fund."
