Eleven great days ahead of us!!!! "The 8th Annual Tribeca Film Festival" kicked off in hysterics as Boris, the neurotic "genius", played by Larry David, addresses the audience the way Woody Allen has in the past with classics like "Annie Hall", in the Sony Pictures Classic, "Whatever Works"!!! After Mr. Allen's European stint, he comes back to New York City with a Southern vengeance which is unlike anything he has done before, offering as much wit and sarcasm as ever before. If you can't have Woody Allen star in the film as the leading male role, who better than "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star, Larry David!
The film starts off with Boris complaining to his friends and the audience about how "bad people are, they make life so much worse than it has to be". "MY STORY?," he asks, "my story is whatever works as long as you don't hurt anybody". Well, whatever works turns out to be a Southern belle uprooted from Mississippi, landing on Boris' doorstep asking for a place to stay until she gets settled. "If you kick me out, and I wind up an Asian prostitute, it will be all your fault." At another point during the film, Melodie, played by Evan Rachel Wood asks Boris, "Where can I take my mom that is fun?", while cynical Boris replies, "How about the Holocaust Museum?"
Evan Rachel Wood, Patricia Clarkson, Larry David, Henry Cavill, and Ed Begley, Jr. warm your insides like a glass of brandy, as you can't stop laughing from beginning to end.

Sharon Abella: How did you complete another gem so quickly, when "VCB" is still playing?
Woody Allen: "I have no problems coming up with new material. No problems being prolific."
Sharon Abella: What scene in the movie was the most fun?
Woody Allen: "It is all a lot of hard work, a lot of anxiety, a lot of decision making, a lot of waking up early, going to sleep late, fun is not really and option, it's a lot of hard work."
Sharon Abella: Is Larry David's character, Boris, playing your alter ego? Do you think fans will be disappointed that you did not play Boris?
Woody Allen: "I don't think they will be disappointed."
Sharon Abella: What are your thoughts about the "American Apparel" scandal? "Woody's photo dressed as a Hasidic Jew from "Annie Hall", was plastered up on a billboard in LA for one week implying that he was endorsing their products, to which Woody finds their advertisements sleazy and demeans his moral standing that he has spent his life building."
Woody Allen: "That was a rotten thing to do. I hope there are enormous punitive damages to prevent them from doing this in the past, present, or future."
