51st International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film
27 October - 2 November 2008
DOK Leipzig 2008 will be presenting an exciting and top-quality animated film programme. 114 films from 29 countries – a cross-section of the current artistic work - were selected from some 600 submissions.
The two-genre festival places a particular focus on, among other things, its border-hoppers, the animated documentaries and presents the special programme „Animadok – More Than Just Reality“.
Apart from the film screenings, various accompanying events will complete the offer: roundtables, a DOK Summit and a master class invite festival-goers to enter into an intensive dialogue with the animated film.
And a new prize will be awarded in 2008: Apart from the Golden and Silver Dove, a prize for the Best German Animated Film will be awarded for the first time with a purse of Euros 3,000 and donated by DOK Leipzig and Saturn Leipzig.
