The fmx/08 trailer is online on fest21.com home of festivals trailers, posters and news!
This year’s opener has emerged from the short film Herbstlaub – a dramatic coming-of-age road movie starring... a dot.
Evoking emotion with abstract visuals, Herbstlaub (Autumn Leaves) stands out with a clear and appealing visual concept. The film was created in 3D within a tightly focused production schedule and a freestyle orientation on the musical score. The enchanting music is sung by a choir of student colleagues, including the director and the composer (Philipp Noll).
Director Oliver Vogel studied animation at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg and graduated in 2007. He specializes in realistic VFX, stereoscopic 3D and enjoys experimenting with graphic elements and composition - a preference well reflected in the stylistically distinctive Herbstlaub.
Herbstlaub has toured numerous festivals, including Ars Electronica '07, Siggraph '07, Anima Mundi '07, Animex '08, Aniwow '07 Award and Encounters Bristol '07 and is now taking its chance as trailer for fmx/08!
As a special highlight the trailer will also be shown in stereoscopic during the digital cinema series at fmx/08 on May 07, 2008! Until then - have a glimpse at www.fmx.de!
