When the members of the European Film Academy, film stars, winners and nominees gather in the Danish capital for this year’s European Film Awards on 6 December 2008, they will for the first time be joined by members of the European high nobility. Their Royal Highnesses The Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark will be among the 1,500 guests at the glamorous ceremony at the Forum in Copenhagen. They will be joined by the cream of the local as well as the whole European film community.
The 21st European Film Awards marks the first time the prestigious event takes place in a Scandinavian country. Previous host cities include Barcelona. Berlin, London, Paris, Rome and Warsaw. The show is broadcast in 61 countries.
The 21^st European Film Awards are presented by the European Film Academy and EFA Productions in collaboration with EFA08 ApS and the Copenhagen International Film Festival with support from the City of Copenhagen, the Danish Film Institute, Region Hovedstaden, Nordisk Film Fonden, WOCO, the Danish film industry, the City of Frederiksberg.
