EFA founding member LORD DAVID PUTTNAM will hold a special lecture titled WISHING AND HOPING which will take place right after this year's EFA General Assembly on Friday, 30 November.
This year's EFA Conference EUROPE ON THE MOVE -MIGRATION IN MOVIES includes a small series of screenings featuring six exemplary works of European directors on the theme of migration. The conference itself will include a conversation between the Israeli filmmaker AMOS GITAI and author PETER COWIE and the discussions will include filmmakers such as ZÜLI ALADAG, GELA BABLUANI, NECO CELIK, ABDELLATIF KECHICHE, JOCELYNE SAAB, MARJANE SATRAPI and DANIS TANOVIC'.

There will also be a special concert by the Flemish Radio Orchestra under Dirk Brossé: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EUROPEAN FILM ACADEMY! -- EUROPEAN FILM COMPOSERS IN CONCERT, on Friday, 30 November 30, at Berlin's historical theatre Admiralspalast. The Flemish Radio Orchestra will perform music by renowned European film music composers, such as PEER RABEN, GEORGES DELERUE, NICOLA PIOVANI and WOJCIECH KILAR. Present to introduce their work will be CRAIG ARMSTRONG, DAVID ARNOLD, WIM MERTENS, and JEAN-CLAUDE PETIT. The concert is open to the public and tickets can be purchased from www.admiralspalast.de
And, as the highlight of the weekend, the EUROPEAN FILM AWARDS CEREMONY will again take place at Berlin's Arena and will see EFA Members, nominees and winners such as JEAN-LUC GODARD and MICHAEL BALLHAUS.
