Actor Stephen Baldwin will attend the Closing Night ceremonies of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and the screening of his latest film MIDNIGHT CLEAR, which screens at the Maniaci Center for the Performing Arts. MIDNIGHT CLEAR is an inspirational holiday drama which boasts a fine ensemble cast, including Stephen Baldwin, K. Cullan, Kirk Woller, Mary Thornton and Victoria Jackson. For five people in a small Southwestern town, Christmas Eve is the loneliest day of the year. A jobless middle-aged man, a mother dealing with her husband’s serious accident, a gas station owner who hates his life, an older woman estranged from her family, and a youth pastor feeling useless all face crises on Christmas Eve. But then the strangers’ paths cross and maybe some Christmas miracles just might happen.
Stephen Baldwin, one of the famous acting Baldwin brothers, has made impression in several key fiilms of the past two decades, including BORN ON THE FOURTH OF JULY and MRS. PARKER AND THE VICIOUS CIRCLE. In the thriller THE USUAL SUSPECTS, he played a thug with a particularly vicious temper. In THE FLINTSTONES IN VIVA ROCK VEGAS, he played Barney Rubble to John Goodman's Fred Flintstone (and won a Razzie Award for worst supporting performance). He had a starring part as a comic action hero in the cult film BIO-DOME. After much publicized alcohol and drug addictions and several run-ins with the law, Baldwin has had a religious conversion as a born-again Christian and an advocate for religious tolerance and family values. He is moving away from the genre and action films he has done in the past decade to more solid roles in films with inherent social messages and humanistic sensibilities. He currently has four films coming out in the next few months. Baldwin will be joined by MIDNIGHT CLEAR's producer/director Dallas Jenkins and producer Jerry Jenkins.
