The Festival WILL take place Sunday, October 21 to Saturday, October 27 2007 – a delay of two weeks.
“Of course we are very disappointed that we could not move forward with our widely announced original play dates, said Scott Rosenberg, director of the Phuket Film Festival. “BUT we are even more excited now to have firm Festival dates and strong strategic partners in place which assures us of a solid base to run our inaugural year.”
From “amazing” Thai classical film (opening film the newly restored ‘The King of the White Elephant’ and never publicly screened film of HM King Rama VII of Thailand’s visit to Phuket) to superb international independent features such as the Spanish film ‘Dance Machine’ (international premiere at PFF), ‘The Man in the Chair,’(USA) starring Christopher Plummer to the thought inspiring “short” documentary ‘Desarrollo Humano’ (‘Human Development’ - Spain), the Phuket Film Festival has great film for everyone.
PFF’s films are only part of the “world of cinema” that will take place at the SF theaters at Jungceylon Oct 21 – Oct 27 on Patong Beach in Phuket, Thailand. We have networking opportunities for those in the film industries of Thailand and Asia – public seminars on film production and financing, a round-table discussion on audio visual artifact preservation and restoration and of course, the glitz and glamour that accompanies all Film Festivals, “stars”.
Opening gala to be held at Jungceylon on October 21st will be a spectacle unto itself.
