FORMULA ONE EUROPEAN GRAND PRIX, NÜRBURGRING, GERMANY ON SUNDAY 29TH MAY 2005
THE BATMOBILE will make its first European public appearance this weekend at the Formula One event, Nürburgring, Germany. This opportunity is made possible by Bernie Eccleston and Formula One Management. The all new Batmobile, which takes a starring role in what is set to be the event film of the summer BATMAN BEGINS, will complete two showcase laps of the world’s longest circuit. The state of the art vehicle will be driven by the film’s stunt driver George Cottle, in front of a live audience of over 100,000 spectators and global audience of nearly 400 million, on Sunday 29th May, at 12.45pm.
The Batmobile is unlike any other vehicle imagined or realized in the world, measuring 15 feet by 9 feet and weighing 2.5 tons, the vehicle has 6 wheels – 2 in the front, outfitted with sprint car race tires, and 4 44ich wheels at the rear. It is equipped with cannons located in the front of the vehicle which can be fired to blast through walls and a jet burner located at the rear of the vehicle which enables the Batmobile to jump distances of up to 60 feet.
Christopher Nolan’s eagerly awaited BATMAN BEGINS starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Katie Holmes, Gary Oldham, Cillian Murphy, Tom Wilkinson, Rutgur Hauer, Ken Watanabe and Morgan Freeman will preview across Europe from mid-June.
