"ROOMMATE FROM HELL" WINS FILM FESTIVAL AWARDS IN SAN FRANCISCO, HOUSTON
(Horror Comedy will next Screen July 24 at Comic-Con in San Diego)
July 14, 2004 – Santa Monica, Calif. - "Roommate From Hell," a horror/comedy short film directed by Allan Piper, was recently named the winner of the Audience Choice award for Best Short Film at the San Francisco Independent Horror Film Festival, and was called a "Must See" by the San Francisco Bay Guardian. The soundtrack, composed by Claire Harding, won the Best Music in a Short Film award at Worldfest Houston last month, and the movie has been selected to screen at next year's Dead By Dawn horror film festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.
"Roommate from Hell" is the tale of three young men sharing an apartment in Los Angeles. Dave's a slob. Eric is a neat freak. Tod is a demon from the Eighth Circle of Hell. Gabe Bartalos, creator of the "Leprechaun" character and the make-up effects artist behind Matthew Barney's "Cremaster" cycle, developed the special effects.
