Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film

Together with the fmx - Conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Interactive Media, the Internationale Trickfilm-Festival Stuttgart - Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) is developing into the biggest and most important meeting in the world of animated film. With an enthusiastic audience, a unique location and countless international guests, the ITFS is a regular fixture on the international animation scene and is one of Germany's outstanding cultural events.

Founded in 1982, the Festival of Animated Film has always promoted artistic animated films, young talented artists and the entire animated film sector. The prize categories, with prize money of over 50,000 Euros, attract the newest and most up-to-date animation films from around the world.

The accompanying events and programmes range from presentations by schools and studios, showcases of famous animation artists and the popular “Best Of Animation” series, right up to screenplay writer workshops with well-known animated film professionals. Industry professionals value the numerous workshops, lectures, and presentations as they provide a unique opportunity to make contacts and familiarize oneself with the latest developments. The public enjoys the variety of the presentation and the relaxed festival atmosphere. At the festival’s open air programme on the Schlossplatz in Stuttgart, the people of Stuttgart celebrate the art of animated film together with guests from all over the world.

The Young Animation competition shows the best films produced by talented young filmmakers and students from international film and art schools.

Tricks for Kids
Competition for the bestanimated shorts made for children.

AniMovie
The feature film competition AniMovie screens a selection of internationally outstanding feature-length animated films.

Cartoon for Teens
The competition features the best animated short films, series, Animes, miachinimas, and cut scenes from computer games for young people aged 12 - 18 years.

Animated Com Award
Award for applied animation in the field of advertising, technology and spatial communication

German Voice Actor Award
Award for the best voice Actor in an animated feature film

German Animation Screenplay Award
Award for the best screenplay in  for an animated feature film

Crazy Horse Session - 48h Animation Jam
