The Rural Route tour is set to kick out great dates in 2013! That includes Iowa shows in Donna Reed’s hometown of Denison and across the state at the spiffy Oneota Film Festival in Decorah.  We dip down in the desert to Oro Valley Library, AZ, then come back SE with a mini Appalachian tour that includes stops at Abingdon Community College in VA, Appalshop in KY, and Mechanical Eye in Asheville, NC.  Later on, shows back east at universities and art spaces in Boston and Phil...

New York Film Festival: 50th Anniversary

Backed by the largest film society in the US which has now more than 7000 members and Lincoln Center’s supportive management the New York Film festival has emerged as the most important US film festival.  Over the last 25 years under Richard Pena’s direction few if any compromises in the main selection and side bars were made. The film concerns Jeff Buckley's early days in NYC and my music is featured in it as is my guitar playing. My portrayal in t...

Another 10 days at the world's leading festival for fantastic cinema have come to a close. All the extraterrestrials have phoned home. And the zombies are in repose until next October. Despite very late nights drinking with actors, filmmakers, distributors and programmers from Finland, Colombia, Korea, Japan, Ireland, Australia, France, Canada, New York and, of course, Spain, I managed to see 23 or 25 or 27 movies, often sleeping on my feet, so that the whole experience began to feel like an e...
