Film Festival) was established in Harajuku, Tokyo in 1999, with an aim
to introduce Japanese audiences to the world of short films. The

the Short Shorts Film Festival (SSFF) has toured in LA, Singapore,
Myanmar, and Mexico establishing itself as a unique, Japanese-born film
festival showcased worldwide. In 2004, SSFF was recognized by the
Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science as a qualifying festival in
the short film category for the annual Academy Award®.
