Www.tank.tvGuest curators have been key to the shaping of our output, and to encouraging the growth of a collection of over a thousand archived film and video works. This online presence has been supported by a series of live events held in conjunction with respected institutions including Tate Modern, London; the ICA, London; ZKM Karlsruhe; Kulturhuset, Stockholm; The Armory Show/VOLTA NY; and the 2011 Athens Biennial. Then-recent Goldsmith’s graduate Laure Prouvost took the lead role in organizing and curating tank.tv’s growing profile. Since 2010 Ajay Hothi has been managing and curating relationships with artists and partners, and in early 2013 Christabel Stewart joined to help facilitate the growing conversation. This year Tank publications itself took the two lower floors of a 1950s landmark building just north of Oxford Circus, and offered tank.tv a dedicated space to enhance our examination of working with and exhibiting experimental motion image artworks in a number of ways. From September 2013, our tenth anniversary as an organisation, this Great Portland Street project space will invite artists to join them in residencies, exhibition, talks and workshops. In sympathy with this new development tank.tv has begun online residencies, which launch with a six month project by London’s Arcadia_Missa’s entitled purlove. Some of our collaborators to date have included artists John Smith, Vito Acconci, Ryan Gander, Rosalind Nashashibi, Philippe Parreno, Jeremy Deller, John Latham, and curators Ian White, Stuart Comer, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Mark Webber, Michelle Cotton and LUX. The entire ten year archive of their exhibited films remains online, free and accessible to all.
