L'Autre Cinéma a le plaisir d'accueillir cette année John Boorman, du 12 au 16 novembre. Chacun de ses films est une aventure, un défi, une quête métaphysique. Partagé entre Hollywood où il joua un rôle fondamental dans le renouveau des années 70 et ses origines Celtiques, préférant l’Irlande à son Angleterre natale, John Boorman a réalisé une quinzaine de films qui ont marqué le cinéma de ces quarante dernières années. Tout en développant une œuvre profondément personnelle et novatrice, il a su s’attirer les faveurs du grand public avec des films comme Délivrance, Excalibur ou La Forêt d’émeraude. La rétrospective que propose L’Autre Cinéma permettra de redécouvrir l’œuvre fascinante de ce cinéaste visionnaire, l'occasion aussi pour lui de venir présenter pour la première fois en France son dernier film, inédit, The Tiger's Tail.

La Leçon de cinéma
Le cinéaste évoquera sa carrière et son travail dans le cadre d’une discussion avec Michel Ciment, critique de cinéma à Positif et animateur de l’émission Projection privée sur France Culture, auteur de Boorman : un visionnaire en son temps (Calmann-Levy).
