Une nouvelle fois, cette manifestation bénéficiera d’un soutien accru de la Principauté et en particulier de S.A.S. Prince Albert II de Monaco, grand passionné de cinéma et spectateur assidu depuis la première édition. Le Monte-Carlo Film Festival de la Comédie, est un festival international, créé en 2001 par Ezio Greggio, acteur et célèbre présentateur de la télévision italienne. La Direction du Festival ouvre pour la seconde année sa communication sur la France. Le président du comité artistique du festival est Mario Monicelli. Le jury sera présidé par Georges Lautner, le complice de Michel Audiard, et réalisateur de films mythiques comme « Les tontons flingueurs » ou encore « Flic ou voyou ». Il sera accompagné, pour la partie française, de Patrick Bouchitey.
