On appelle « éternels» ceux qui souffrent de la mélancolie d’éternité. Convaincus que la mort ne peut avoir raison de leurs vies, ils se croient condamnés à errer dans l’attente du jour où ils seront libérés de leur existence. Ce film est un récit d’errances et de fuites, aux confins du Haut-Karabagh, une enclave arménienne en Azerbaïdjan. Habités par les fantômes du génocide et par la guerre qui y sévit depuis plus de vingt ans, les personnages qui traversent ce film portent en eux la mélancolie des éternels.
