Animation Production Days (APD) est un marché professionnel dédié à l'animation allemande et internationale. Le jury APD a sélectionné 2 projets allemands pour une sélection directe au CARTOON FORUM :
• "Lambs" produit par Studio FILM BILDER
• "Bugs and Guns" produit par Wolkenlenker

Le 17 avril, après presque deux semaines de Festival en ligne, l'AFCA (Association française du cinéma d'animation) a dévoilé les 17 films et auteurs lauréats de cette édition 2021.
Le gagnant du Prix CARTOON SPRINGBOARD pour une série de jeune auteur en développement avancé est:
• "Quand l'écume brûlera", de Madenn Le Bouffant and Thomas Lajon. Un projet de série poétique, et pourtant bien ancré dans un réel plein du plastique qui envahit plages et océans. Une histoire porteuse d'espoir.
