A remote mental institution next to the Russian border was shut down by the police in the early 70´s. Dr. Andersson made series of snuff films using his patients. The Doctor filmed all the murders in 8mm and started to call himself the Auteur.
30 years later a small American film crew has arrived to Finland to shoot a horror movie about the massacre. The movie’s director, Steven, is engaged in his first feature with his DoP Darius and gaffer Mike from LA. The leading actress is a Finnish rising star Lisa, who’s dreaming about Hollywood. Dr. Andersson is played by a famous B-movie actor with a big ego.
Everything is going according to plan until two Finnish sound guys discover something evil hidden in the basement: the original snuff films shot by the Auteur.
Steven is stimulated by the raw and brutal snuff film material and starts to rewrite the script. The scenes are not real enough. Everything changes when he finds The Auteur’s 8mm film camera. Now he is ready to shoot his masterpiece, the film for which he will be remembered.
Soon the crew realizes that they are the stars of the film. Instead of making a horror film, they are in one. The Auteur is slaying the Skeleton Crew one by one. There´s no sequel for you!

The European Film Market, the professional component of the Berlinale, opened yesterday at the historic Martin Gropius Bau with more of a whimper than a bang. Attendance on the opening day and for today's first official day of market screenings was definitely sparse compared to years past, with hallways amazingly empty and ample empty seats available in the cafe and meeting points. "This is the slowest Berlin I've ever experienced", one veteran sales agent...

exclusively on the short film, considering it as a separate art form,
as a format allowing the experimentation of new styles and the creation
of new trends. The festival offers a chance of visibility for high-value works that
are often precluded from the main distribution channels. Its aim is to
build a bridge between the audience and the endless forms of expression
of the short format.
Created in 1988, the festival presents films from Northern European countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden) as well as the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania).
