The amazing two eight foot golden Oscar statues made their triumphant arrival at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel in New York on Friday, February 25, 2011, in preparation for the Official New York Oscar Night Party of 83rd Annual Academy Awards, Sunday, February 27. The Carlyle Restaurant kitchen chef Michael De Jesus carefully created and displayed samples of the mid-course, entrée, and desert dishes to be served at the Oscar Night celebration.

France's yearly César awards have become a cultural institution. Since 1975, the event has been a prestigious and eagerly anticipated annual rendezvous for the French film industry and a few select guests from abroad. This year's event was presided over by Jodie Foster.
Tarantino was honored with a Cesar d'honneur.

The Best First Feature Award is given annually to the best debut film, considering films from the Competition, the Panorama, the Generation, the Forum or the Perspektive Deutsches Kino programmes. A three-member international jury chooses the winning film.
