The purpose of the West Texas Film Festival is to screen diverse independent films in West Texas.

The festival was launched in 2016 with a grant from Odessa Arts.

4th edition of the West Texas Film Festival is scheduled for November 21 - 23, 2019

The 2019 West Texas Film Festival is scheduled for November 21st through 23rd at the Rodgers Fine Arts Center on the Odessa College campus in Odessa, Texas. The following showcases are scheduled:

Tales of Texas - November 21st

Education Day - November 22nd

Friday Night Lights screening - November 22nd @ 7 pm

WorldView - November 23rd

Awards Ceremony - November 23rd @ 6 pm

The Education Day will include Brian David Cange, a Line Producer from New York City (Mildred Pearce, Mad Hott Ballrom), James Fite, a filmmaker from Big Spring, Texas (Project Monet, Carnage Radio) and Matt Maxwell, a documentarian from Midland, Texas (Finding Home in Boomtown). 

This year's festival poster was created by portrait painter and Odeesa College art professor, Daniel Sorenson. Sponsors include Odessa Arts, Odessa College, InkTip and the Texas Film Commission. 

"Lots of big things in small packages for the 2019 West Texas Film Festival with submissions from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Israel, Switzerland, the US and the United Kingdom. This festival is shaping up to be the best one ever," said Harlan Whatley, Festival Director. This is the fourth year of the festival.
