Tribeca Film Festival 12th’s edition has begunWednesday, April 17, 2013 The festival opens with international premiere of the documentary “Mistaken For Strangers” by first time director Tom Berninger, heavy metal- and horror film-loving enthusiast who follows his brother Matt Berninger, lead singer of the indie rock band ‘The National”. This is an excellent opening of not so much commercial band, Brooklyn based, bringing to light music, family and pursuing your dreams. Director’s Tom Berninger debut exemplifies the independent way of filmmaking with a combination of comedy and earnestness drama from the band that’s on the road, also portrays the story of two very different brothers. The film was followed by a special performance of the National at the Highline Ballroom. By L. Fietz
