Ever wanted to be a street photographer?

Ricky Powell boasts a quintessential New York story, rising to fame as a street photographer in the 80's and 90's and touring with the Beastie Boys, capturing some of the wildest moments in popular culture. Tonight, watch his remarkable story come to life in “Ricky Powell: The Individualist,” airing during We Are One, a global film festival produced and organized by Tribeca and YouTube that benefits COVID-19 relief efforts.

Drugs, sex, art, and hip-hop collide in this fascinating documentary about Powell. With gripping testimonies from those who have found themselves on the other side of Ricky’s lens—including Natasha Lyonne, Debi Mazar, Mike D, Laurence Fishburne, Chuck D, and LL Cool J—this is a must-see film for anyone who has ever fallen in love with NYC.

It all kicks off at 5:30PM EST on the We Are One YouTube page. This is your one and only shot to see “Ricky Powell: The Individualist,” so don’t miss it! Stick around for a Q&A with Powell himself and director Josh Swade after the screening.

We Are One, which airs every day on YouTube from 7AM to 7PM until June 7, has many more unforgettable stories to share. Follow along on social media with the hashtags #WeAreOne and #WeAreOneGFF, and look out for daily updates on Twitter and Instagram under @WeAreOneGFF.
