2013 TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL announces first ever INE #6SECFILMS WINNERSThe 12th annual Tribeca Film Festival, co-founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, and presented by founding sponsor American Express, announced the winners of its first-ever #6SecFilms Vine competition today. Jurors Adam Goldberg, Penny Marshall and the team from 5-Second Films selected from a shortlist of nearly 40 Vines -- narrowed down from more than 400 entries on April 17 -- to name individual winners in the categories of Auteur, Series, Animate and Genre. Each winner will receive a $600 cash prize, or $100 for each second of their winning Vine submission. The selected films, viewable on TribecaFilm.com, follow: Auteur: “There is no sunny-side to this story” by Kevin Polizzotto / @KevyPizza Series: “The Book Beetle” by Chris Donlon / @creepycrawler Animate: “How to clear out your garage from a scary ghost” by Jethro Ames / @JethroAmes Genre: “Lazer’s close shave with Donald” by Matt Swinsky / @MattSwinsky Speaking on what jurors were looking for in the winning selections, Genna Terranova, TFF’s director of programming, said “The TFF programming team and the #6SecFilms jury were looking for 6 second films with a story, distinct voice and overall quality. We were most impressed with the creativity at play when it came to the submissions, after all making a film or even telling a story in 6 seconds is not an easy feat. These viners (these creators) rose to the challenge." For more information on all of the films in the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival, please visit tribecafilm.com.
