Report on Strawberry Shorts @ The Cambridge Arts Picturehouse

On Friday the 26th of February, Strawberry Shorts Film Festival presented Strawberry Shorts @ The Cambridge Arts Picturehouse, an evening of short films about Strawberry Fair.

The Strawberry Shorts Film Festival runs as part of Strawberry Fair, Europe's largest free festivals of music and arts. Strawberry Fair is held annually on Midsummer Common in Cambridge UK, on the first Saturday in June. The fair is run by a voluntary committee of local people and accepts no commercial sponsorship.

All the films we screened are available online to view. Be sure not to miss Strawberry Farye from 1977 for some remarkable giant inflatable Martian monsters.

The screening was preceded with a potted history of Strawberry Fair given by John Clements in which he reveals the surprising origin of the fair!

After the screening we had a Q&A with Justin Argent the chair of the Strawberry Fair committee 2010. Justin discusses the changes to this years fair, the biggest changes for 15 year.

Justin's Q&A is available to view online. View it to find out why this years fair will be more creative, more participatory and much more fun!
