Short Film JEDO'S DEAD to World Premiered on March 8th at SXSW 2024
The powerful short drama JEDO'S DEAD celebrated its World Premiere at 5:45PM on March 8 at Austin's South by Southwest Film Festival, as part of the event's wildly popular Texas Shorts Program. The picture, which was lensed in Michigan by Dallas-based filmmaker Sara Nimeh and has become one of the buzziest short films at this years SXSW, will screen again on March 11.
Set during the social and political turmoil of 9/11, a young girl and her brother intimately confront loss when they discover their dead grandfather’s body. JEDO'S DEAD frames the traditional rituals surrounding death and loss through the eyes of young children. Alone and confused, they work their way through the stages of human grief—from the painfully human to the inescapably transcendent.
The film, which was written and directed by Sara Nimeh, stars A.J. Lister, Aramazd Stepanian, and Langston Sardella. It was produced by Michael Mittelstaedt, Jeff Walker, and Ellyn Church.
The film's Director of Photography is Shane Bagwell, and it is edited by Courtney Ware. Sound design is by F. Hudson Miller and the picture's music is composed by Stéphanie Hamelin Tomala. 17.03.2024 | SXSW's blog Cat. : Short Film JEDO'S DEAD to World Premiered on March 8th at SXSW 2024 News PROS
