French filmmaker Mia Hansen-Løve, Mexican director Alejandro G. Iñárritu and Irish writer John Banville join the list of personalities who will be visiting the 70th San Sebastian Festival over the next few days. After having competed with Eden in the Official Selection (2014) and being selected for Perlak with L’avenir / Things to Come (2016), Mia Hansen-Løve returns to this section on September 20 with Un beau matin / One Fine Morning, winner of the Europa Cinemas Cannes Laber award at the Cannes’ Quinzaine des Réalisateurs. BARDO, falsa crónica de unas cuantas verdades / BARDO, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths will be the third participation of Alejandro G. Iñárritu in the Perlak section, after Amores perros (2000) and Babel (2006). His latest movie, scheduled for September 23, competed at the Venice Festival. In addition, John Banville will come to San Sebastian on September 24 to accompany director Neil Jordan and the stars of Marlowe, Liam Neeson and Diane Kruger. The feature film is based on his novel The Black Eyed Blonde based on the immortal character created by the North American author Raymond Chandler almost 90 years ago. On the other hand, the Catalan filmmaker Isabel Coixet will present the Donostia Award to Juliette Binoche at the gala that will take place tomorrow Sunday 18 at 22:00 at the Kursaal, while French filmmaker Gaspar Noé will do the same with David Cronenberg on 21 September at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre.
