After taking some time away from the computer, I’m back with news from the San Sebastián International Film Festival, which in its 73rd edition (73SSIFF) will be held from September 19 to 27.

This year, festival news has been slow to arrive, but after the poster presentations at the end of June, daily updates are now coming in. Let’s see if we can organize all this information.

As every year, Juncal de la Fuente and myself, Inés Barreda will be in Donostia to report everything that happens there. We are already accredited and eager to dive back into the festival whirlwind.

The new feature films by Edward Berger, Claire Denis, Dolores Fonzi, Joachim Lafosse, Olmo Omerzu, Xiaoyu Qin, and James Vanderbilt will compete for the Golden Shell in the Official Section, alongside the Spanish entries: José Luis Guerín, the Moriartys: Jose Mari Goenaga and Aitor Arregi; Alauda Ruiz de Azúa; and Alberto Rodríguez.

The Official Section of the 73SSIFF will also include, as Special Screenings out of competition, the first film directed by actress Juliette Binoche and the highly anticipated tribute by Alba Flores to her father, Antonio.
