Indian PM Modi's wife Jashodaben guest of honour @screening of Gujarati star Rajdeep’s Hindi debut Yeh Kaisi Hai Ashiqui

A press screening of Gujarati movie star Rajdeep’s  Hindi Feature debut‘Yeh Kaisi Hai Aashiqui’ had an unusual guest:  Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's wife Jashodaben. Clad in purple silk, the serene lady was feted by the film-makers,cast and crew including director Subhash J Shah, playback singer Zahir Raaj & her "brother" Rajdeep ( real name Zameer Khan)

Rajdeep scripted the romantic horror thriller in which he shares the screen with Sukhbir Lamba,Atul Soni, Sipra Gaur, Atmaram Tripathi, Vandana Rawal, Swati Mukherji, Gokul Baraiyya, Sandeep Sharma, Raju Baruchi, Shakil Doctor, Sachin Rajput, Gula Sheikh, Ravi Dutta, Shobhana Ben, Firoz, Ramlakhan Sharma, Arjun Bharuchi, Nikulsingh Chudasama, Raj and Babu.

In the lead role, Rajdeep plays a rich middle aged film financier, who is besotted  with his young second wife who, the viewer soon realises, is a double-dealing hussy with designs on his wealth. But there's a US based daughter from the first marriage to contend with.

The viewer is led up the garden path via red herrings galore in a film within a film which starts promisingly enough with sly plot twists but lamentingly, becomes predictable post-interval. The dialogues have been penned by Suresh Joshi, music composed by Shivam Bagchi ( in vintage Bollywood style, there's even a song sung by a "vengeful"ghost" ) The lyrics are by Amitabh Ranjan and Mahil Paldhvi, cinematography by Hitesh Beldar, editing by Anil Patil. The film has released pan India.
