Pierre et Jeanne by Clémentine Célarié

After finishing his audiovisual studies in Nice, Matthieu Rubin quickly began working on commercials and feature films as a stage manager, then as an assistant director, a position he particularly likes.

In 2000, he met Raphaël Benoliel who had just founded his company Firstep, with whom he worked on many international projects. Very quickly, the know-how of its founding members allowed the company to become known internationally in the field of executive production. Thanks to this specificity and the passion that drives the members of the company, he has the chance to carry out numerous collaborations with talented directors such as: Neil Jordan, Richard Curtis, Stephen Frears, Woody Allen, Tom Hooper, Alfonso Cuaron, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Amy Sherman-Palladino, Matthew Weiner, Tom McCarthy... and to work with major studios such as Studio Canal, Working Title, DreamWorks, Paramount, Universal, Columbia, Amazon, Netflix...

Rich of this experience, Matthieu Rubin gradually decided to devote himself to his true passion, the development of scripts as well as the production of feature films and series, while continuing to collaborate on films as an executive producer.

With this in mind, he founded the company SAZIA FILMS in 2018.

The company quickly shot its first film, "LES DEGUNS" (2018), which totaled more than 480,000 admissions in theaters, in co-production with Firstep and Raphaël Benoliel, his long-time accomplice.

SAZIA FILMS then continues to develop feature film and series projects with directors such as Ludovic Bernard, Carlo Brandt, Stéphane Lionardo, Anne Barbier, Grégory Tudéla, and produces the film "PIERRE ET JEANNE", Clémentine Célarié's first feature film.
