The Seventh Edition of the Oaxaca FilmFest will be held from October 7-15, 2016 in the City of Oaxaca, Mexico.

Best Film : "The Wannabe" directed by Nick Sandow and produced by Martin Scorsese 
Best Director : Takashi Miike for "Yakuza Apocalypse" 
Best Actor : Vincent Piazza in "The Wannabe" 
Best Actress : Patricia Arquette in "The Wannabe" 
Best Mexican Feature : "The Thin Yellow Line" directed by Celso García and produced by Guillermo del Toro. 
Best Documentary : "Among the Believers" directed by Hemal Trivedi

Oaxaca FilmFest also includes 3 days of intensive filmaking and screenwriting training called New Industry. Recent participants include Sundance Institute, Kickstarter, VHX, Indiegogo, Jakob Krueger Studios, Keya Khayatian from United Talent Agency, Final Draft and many more.
